A Healer’s Journey in the Prosperous Tang: Joining Forces to Pacify the Western Regions

My new book is out! You're welcome to read my work on Tomato Novel. I hope you'll enjoy it. Your support motivates me to write, and I'll do my best to tell every story well! The medical and historical background is entirely fictional.

Su Mu, a modern medical student, accidentally transmigrates while researching medical case records from the High Tang era and becomes an orphan girl displaced during the Kaiyuan years. With her modern medical knowledge and foundation in traditional Chinese medicine, she receives kind shelter in the countryside. Later, a doctor at Renzhitang takes her under his wing, and she begins her journey as a physician. On her first day at the clinic, she saves an emergency patient with an unconventional first-aid method, and her reputation begins to grow. Along the way, she encounters Luo Jingyuan, a national guardian general who has been gravely wounded. One is devoted to healing, the other bears the burdens of the realm. From doctor and patient, they come to understand each other, and affection quietly takes root. To treat a noble in the imperial palace, Su Mu travels to Chang'an with Luo Jingyuan. Her remarkable medical skills earn her an honor and the legal status she needs to establish herself in the High Tang. As the situation in the Western Regions grows turbulent, she sets out on a campaign there with Luo Jingyuan. They face hardship along the way, working together to thwart poison plots and repel enemy forces. She heals soldiers and civilians with her medical skills, while they use strategy to secure the frontier. As they safeguard peace in the Western Regions, they write a High Tang legend woven from a healer's compassion and a shared sense of duty to their country.
