In the cold, silent autopsy room, forensic pathologist Qin Mo discovers a faintly blue mark, invisible to the naked eye, on the wrist of the thirteenth unidentified corpse. More terrifying still, he finds the same mark on the inside of his own wrist. At the same time, the city sees its first “second-scale disappearance”: a living person vanishes from surveillance footage as if erased from existence, leaving behind only a phone whose countdown is frozen at “108:00:00.”
All the clues point to a street that burned down three years ago: Evernight Street. Qin Mo is forced to work with Lu Qing, a reporter investigating the case. At the stroke of midnight, amid eerie chimes, they witness the street that should no longer exist reappear above the ruins like a mirage. And in the café on the corner, called “Between Eternities,” a mysterious gatekeeper is waiting for them.
The countdown has begun. Qin Mo must uncover the origin of the mark within 108 hours, or become the next person to “disappear” forever.
