Zhou Ruiyang is a model. By chance, he met an agent who offered him a role in a web series, promised him a partner, and said they’d get to cuddle, kiss, and hug. He’d joined the cast thinking he’d get to experience an actor’s life. He hadn’t expected to be tricked into taking the plunge, but since the other guy was so gorgeous, it only took him three minutes to talk himself into it.

The show had plenty of kissing scenes. At first, Zhou Ruiyang needed a bottle of Erguotou to get through them. Gradually, whenever the director called “Cut,” Zhou Ruiyang would keep going. “It’s fine. I can do it even better…”

Later, the CP pairing they formed, “Shang-Zhou Together,” took the internet by storm! Their Little Sailboat fans shipped them in real life, too!

Later still, Zhou Ruiyang asked Shang Lin:

“Lin-ge, what if I’ve turned gay?”

Shang Lin frowned. “Stop reading the CP fans’ comments. You have to know the difference between the show and real life!”

Zhou Ruiyang thought the production crew had promised they’d assign him a wife for the shoot, and that they could kiss and cuddle and kiss again. There was no reason he should stop getting kisses once filming wrapped, let alone hand his wife over to someone else! Absolutely not! He’d keep partnering with his wife in the next show, determined to turn him gay and make him his both on and off screen.
