From the Start: Abandoned in Widow Village, I'm Told to Continue the Family Line

Lin Xian, the “God-tier carry” who dominated the 21st-century esports scene and was hailed as the ceiling of mechanical skill, collapses in front of his computer after several days of high-intensity battles. When he opens his eyes again, his soul has entered the body of a wounded soldier with the same name in the Great Ning Dynasty. The war has just ended, and the country lies in ruins. To implement its policy of “increasing revenue and reducing expenditure,” the court deems severely wounded soldiers who can no longer return to the battlefield “wasted resources.” By imperial decree, Lin Xian is sent to remote, barren Qinghe Village, where almost all the men have died in battle.

Only women, children, the elderly, and the infirm remain in the village. The court makes it clear that those who stay will become “breeding stock,” with the sole mission of increasing the population and rebuilding the village. The God-tier carry, who once ruled the virtual battlefield and never suffered defeat, is now trapped in a desperate place where people struggle to get enough to eat and never know if they’ll live to see the next day.

See how Lin Xian leads the helpless villagers as they reclaim land, improve farming and make tools, suppress bandits, and raise living standards. Starting from the tiny Qinghe Village, he gradually breaks free of the shackles of a chaotic age, protects the people he loves, and eases the suffering of the common folk. In the battered Great Ning Dynasty, he will forge a truly peaceful and prosperous era.
