Just as human civilization was on the verge of entering the age of artificial intelligence, a meteorite suddenly struck the Asia Life Sciences Research Institute. The blazing impact shattered the entire facility. Streams of fire raged, and a colossal explosion lasted a full day and night, its flames burning until dawn.
Ocean currents surged, and the earth’s veins shifted. Violent tectonic activity split the entire Asian continent in two, burying beneath the earth or swallowing into the sea the accumulated achievements of centuries of human civilization.
Civilization had fallen, but it was not over.
The ensuing genetic explosion triggered worldwide mutations among living species. Mutant beasts, altered species, and supernatural abilities emerged, and mutations continued without pause.
This was a mad age, an age where the strong preyed on the weak. In the Base Era, as humanity struggled to survive, everything lay in ruins and awaited rebuilding.
And yet...
Civilization would rise again.
