The Primordial Firmament

When the research station on Europa began to experience “glass rain,” Lin Qi knew humanity’s age of solitude had come to an end. Pale crystals blossomed in a vacuum, transforming life into eternal geometric sculptures. This was not an invasion, but a merciless “remodeling.” The universe had never been silent; it simply spoke in languages humanity could not understand: the order of silicon, the fury of sulfur, the stillness of ammonia, the will of energy... Every civilization was the embodiment of some cosmic truth. To survive, humanity would have to learn to walk between the cracks of multiple realities. To endure, we would have to ask: Must life be like us? As the stars ceased to be home and became a battlefield, and the line between ally and enemy blurred amid differences in fundamental makeup, Lin Qi would lead the surviving humans on an expedition beyond the limits of carbon-based understanding. This is not only a war, but a trial of all forms of existence. The Substrate Firmament: Dedicated to all who gaze up at the stars and dare to ask, “Why are we the way we are?”
