I’m Wang Wenjun, a modern-day office drone. The moment I opened my eyes, I had transmigrated to the Ming Dynasty.
Other people transmigrate to make their mark. I transmigrated straight into a zombie apocalypse.
Half the Ming Empire is fucking eating people.
From Shuntian Prefecture to Yingtian Prefecture, patches of the map are turning black. The cities are full of zombies, and so are the roads outside. The living? They’re even more vicious than the zombies.
At first, all I wanted was to find somewhere to hide.
Then I realized there was nowhere left to hide.
So I had to figure out how to survive, using the scraps of modern knowledge in my head: making Molotov cocktails, finding clean water, and setting simple traps.
Along the way, I picked up a dying Imperial Guard and a medical woman who did nothing but cry.
The three of us fled south like dogs. We saw more dead people on the road than I’d ever seen on TV in my entire life.
I saw so many cannibals, and even people selling human flesh. But the ones who kept me awake at night were the people who still looked perfectly normal.
When we reached Nanjing, I thought we’d finally be able to catch our breath.
Then I discovered that this cursed plague had come from the imperial palace.
The Jiajing Emperor, who wanted to live forever, seemed to have turned himself into something neither human nor ghost.
Now I have two choices.
Either I take the few people with me and hole up in some mountain ravine, watching the world rot away completely.
Or I turn back and head for the capital, to the place where it all began, and find out what the hell this virus is, even though I’ll probably die on the way.
Damn, this transmigration experience is absolutely awful.
