The novel "The Heart Monkey Returns to Silence"
After Journey to the West, inner demons are reborn. The true scriptures spread eastward, and the fire of calamity has not been extinguished.
Three hundred years after returning from Buddhist scriptures, Sun Wukong, the victorious Buddha, lost his golden body, but the burn marks of the golden hoop still remained on his palms. The Tathagata points out that "the inner demons are still hidden dangers before they are extinguished", and a disaster more dangerous than the Eighty-one Difficulties of Journey to the West has quietly come.
At the bottom of the Tongtian River, the "Xuan Iron of Lihen" appeared, and the green cow spirit used it to make the "Heart-Eating Cauldron", which caused greed, anger and delusion among mortals. Sun Wukong regained his grip on the mottled golden hoop, only to find that becoming a Buddha was not the end, but the beginning of endless killing and backlash. The magical power that used to subjugate demons has now become the root cause of violence in the body.
The four masters and apprentices set out on the journey again, but it is not the same situation as before. Tang Monk's cassock hides the "Twelve Diagrams of Karma", and he glimpses the cruel truth that love is the Buddha's nature in the catastrophe; Zhu Bajie has the remnant soul of a six-eared macaque in his body, and hides murderous intentions under his greed and stupidity; Sha Monk loses his voice because he peeks into the mirror of reincarnation, and is burdened with the ulterior secrets of heaven.
As the "false Xuanzang" preached crooked scriptures and Chang'an City believers turned into the living dead, a shocking conspiracy involving both Buddhism and Taoism and the rewriting of the laws of heaven and earth surfaced. Sun Wukong must face his origin as a "mental ape" before the Golden Cudgel is completely dimmed, and find the true path to "silent enlightenment" in the gap between Lingshan Mountain and Huaguo Mountain.
