This series includes a total of five works: "The Crane Startled Kunlun", "The Sword and the Golden Hairpin", "The Pearl of the Sword", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "The Silver Vase". They are related to each other but independent of each other. They are representative works of "tragic martial arts novels". The love entanglements between Jiang Xiaohe (later known as Jiang Nanhe) and A Luan, Li Mubai and Yu Xiulian, Luo Xiaohu and Yu Jiaolong. The last one, "The Iron Cavalry Silver Ping", tells the story of Yu Jiaolong giving birth to an illegitimate son with Luo Xiaohu (Han Tiefang), but he was exchanged for a daughter (Chun Xue Ping). The friendship between the previous generation evolved into the friendship between the next generation; later, Han Tiefang traveled thousands of miles to search for her relatives. They met their biological parents separately in the desert without knowing it, and the parents died in front of their sons. Although Han Tiefang and Chun Xueping finally got married, "dragons were buried in the desert" and "tiger were buried in the icebergs". What a huge regret!

The old-school martial arts novels are quite good.
I think Mr. Wang Dulu's Crane and Iron Pentalogy each has its own charm, and the best one is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Each character is vivid and has a distinct personality.
