Underworld Ferryman: I Use a Fragmentary Scroll to Unravel the Yin-Yang Mystery

I transmigrated, but my soul ended up beside a dark river in the underworld. This place is beyond the jurisdiction of the living world and does not belong to the underworld bureaucracy either. It is a world caught between the two. I am Zhao Li, neither a King of Hell nor a ghost official. I ferry the souls of those who died when they should not have, and those who escaped death when they should have died. This world is like Earth, yet not like it. History took a different turn, technology never flourished, but feng shui and divination became prominent fields of study. Every household chooses its home and grave site according to feng shui, and every city has stone steles to suppress evil. Some use compasses to read fate; others wield talismans to drive away evil. But fewer than five people truly understand the mysteries of yin and yang. In this parallel universe, the terrain recorded in the Classic of Mountains and Seas is real, the Nine Palaces of the Luo Book are alive, dragon veins wander, and ancestral graves can nurture corpses. An old mansion might conceal an ancient formation's core, and a jade pendant might hold the memories of someone from a past life. I row my ferry, listen to the weeping, and send ghosts across the river. Along the way, I also uncover a few murder cases hidden within feng shui formations. In this world, the living deceive ghosts and the dead harm the living. I just ferry souls.
