[Cthulhu Mythos + cyberpunk + mad doctor + quasi-invincible protagonist + cognitive dissonance]
Noah’s Ark, City-State No. 9: sanity is the only privilege.
The moment people lose control of their emotions and their mental thresholds cross the limit, they mutate into monsters.
Lin An is the most refined psychological counselor in the inner city, a perfect gentleman whose mental threshold has remained locked for years.
Only he knows that an abyss resides in his mind.
Confronted by an F-rank Glutton, he wipes his mouth. “Stomach lesion. Remove it.”
Confronted by an E-rank Watcher, he adjusts his glasses. “Excessive eyeball growth. Excise it.”
Confronted by an S-rank indescribable false god, he opens the medical record book he carries everywhere:
“Case No. 987. Severe delusional disorder. Contain.”
Years later, Lin An stands atop the world, with a host of terrifying beings he has “cured” behind him.
Gu Qinghe raises his knife with trembling hands. “Lin An, what kind of monster are you?”
Lin An elegantly removes his bloodstained gloves and smiles warmly.
“Inspector Gu, why deny your illness? I’m just a... attending physician who wants to cure the world.”
