The boldest thing Shen Tinglan ever did in school was play the capital’s golden boy for a fool.

When they meet again, she’s a weather forecaster, and he’s a storm-chasing photographer.

She has to personally approve every permit for his risky expeditions.

Their work brings them together, and they add each other on WeChat.

When asked how she feels, she lowers her head to sign a document. “I’m just doing my job.”

Later, Lu Xingye gets a taste for her and proposes a whirlwind marriage.

Shen Tinglan agrees, but she won’t make it public.

Lu Xingye frowns. “You want the heir to be your lover on the side? Shen Tinglan, did you forget to look in the mirror today?”

Shen Tinglan presses her lips together and turns to leave.

Lu Xingye snaps, “Shen Tinglan, would it kill you to say a few more words?”

Later still, Shen Tinglan happens to discover that another moon has always occupied Lu Xingye’s heart.

A silent bitterness rises in her. When their agreement expires, she turns away once more.

Lu Xingye pins her against the wall, his eyes fierce. “Shen Tinglan, are you playing me again?”

He kneels on the ground, as lowly as mud, clutching her fingers and begging for her love.

Only when he goes missing along a tornado’s path does she misjudge the forecast for the first time.

After surviving the disaster, he develops his final roll of film, revealing the secret he has kept for years.

As it turns out, on that summer day in the sweltering classroom, she wasn’t the only one whose heart raced out of control.
