The Lingqu Era

At thirty, he dies suddenly while drafting a design and becomes a refugee dying of thirst in another world.

Unable to cultivate, he can still see “spiritual energy” flowing like water: immortals upstream drink the pure stuff, while ordinary people downstream swallow poison.

While others kneel and beg for talismans, Chen He crouches down and uses charcoal and stones to build the first filter.

A bowl of clean water makes a dying miner open his eyes.

With his tattered bundle on his back, he walks into the crumbling mines.

As an engineer, he knows water can be purified, and so can this world.

He won’t cultivate. He won’t kneel to gods. An engineer will carve a way to live through this world that devours people.
