Companions: Aisen and Kalin

Eisen: Chief technical researcher at Zhujing, a top architectural firm, specializing in AI-powered architectural design and digital modeling. A genius with an extreme aversion to socializing, he is ruthlessly precise with his sharp tongue and so rigidly punctual that his routine borders on the obsessive. His home has more books and vinyl records than furniture. A second-generation heir who keeps a low profile, he despises the way his family operates its capital and instead earned an equity stake in Zhujing through his technical expertise. He seems aloof, but is perceptive and open-minded, and quietly has the backs of those he respects.

• Kalin: A gifted humanist architectural designer who once founded his own studio, Feiyan. Refusing to compromise with capital and insisting on preserving the character of old buildings led to the collapse of his project and left him deeply in debt. Highly empathetic with exacting taste, he dresses casually but with style and always carries a sketchbook. He cannot help criticizing unreasonable architectural designs. A little scatterbrained in everyday life, he is an unpredictable cook and too softhearted to resist taking the blame.

Eisen and Kalin were the best design partners at university, but a clash of ideals and secret machinations drove them apart. Three years later, after his business fails and his landlord throws him out, Kalin runs into Eisen on a rainy night and is forced to sign an "unequal cohabitation agreement." They clash again over an urban renewal project, going from bickering under the same roof to joining forces at work. As they clear up the misunderstanding behind their falling-out, they expose the capitalist mastermind pulling the strings and uncover a shocking secret. Together, they thwart the conspiracy and become indispensable to each other.
