The creation of "Crime in the Name of Love" began with a news report in 2015 that kept me awake at night. At that time, I originally wanted to use this as a basis to create a movie script with a theme of youth education. The idea was triggered by a video news account's disclosure of the current situation of juvenile crime. In recent years, the number of juvenile crimes has continued to rise, and it has shown a clear trend of becoming younger, gang-oriented, and vicious.
A set of data released by the Ministry of Public Security is even more shocking to me: 85.1% Of juvenile offenders aged 16-17 are suspected of four types of crimes: theft, robbery, robbery, and injury; and among juvenile offenders aged 14-15, this proportion is as high as 92%. As a father, such figures hit my heart like a heavy hammer, making me toss and turn and ponder: Do these young children really do not understand the law, or do they not know what is a crime? In the current rapidly developing information age, how should we guide correctly so that our children can grow up healthily?
I know very well that youthful ignorance, driven by curiosity, coupled with a lack of positive guidance and cognition, may cause them to inadvertently embark on the road of breaking the law, and completely deviate from the trajectory of their lives. Therefore, it became my obsession to create a work that combines case warnings with interesting plots - I hope that through the story, I can sound the alarm for young people and guide them away from the wrong path; I also hope to call on all sectors of society to face up to this problem and not wait until a tragedy occurs before regretting it.
