Oh, Crap! I Became the Male Lead of the Journey to the West

[Officialdom intrigue in Journey to the West + a wily cultivator + The Knockout with gods and immortals + a murder-mystery game + comedy]

I transmigrated into the world of Journey to the West and became the one escorting the scriptures.

I thought all I had to do was recite the Headband Tightening Mantra and coast to victory.

Then I discovered

The gods and Buddhas filling the heavens were all actors, the eighty-one trials were a livestreamed script, and I was the only leading man in this Truman Show version of Journey to the West who had no idea what was going on.

The White Bone Demon wanted to eat me, so I took her on as my concubine.

The real Golden Cicada tried to possess me, but I swallowed him instead.

Seven spider demons tried to capture me, so I turned Spider Cave into the Three Realms’ number-one bathhouse.

Sun Wukong was depressed, so I told him, “Your father is Yu the Great, and the Golden Cudgel is the inheritance your dad left you.”

Zhu Bajie started crying, so I forced him to confess the truth about how he defiled the Seven Fairies back then. Those seven children are still missing...

I thought I had Journey to the West all figured out, until I found a note in the Bottomless Pit:

“Tang Monk’s emotions aren’t convincing enough. Cry harder.”

I jerked my head up and saw countless eyes watching from behind the clouds.

So even my transmigration was part of the script.

The Tathagata was waiting for me at Spirit Mountain. He said, “You’ve finally arrived.”

[Well, that’s screwed! But somehow I don’t think I’m the one who should be panicking.]
