Synopsis of "Lone Boat: The Double Agent"
She comes from the future; he has been reborn. In Suzhou in 1938, they use lies as their shield as they perform a deadly dance in the heart of enemy territory.
After modern-day special forces soldier Leng Yue dies, she wakes as Lin Shujuan, a Pingtan apprentice who drowned in the Suzhou River. Military Intelligence agent Qu Xinping hands her a bloodstained marriage contract: “From today on, you are Zhang Haimo, who died of illness, and the future young mistress of the Gu family.”
When she enters the Gu household, she finds her fiancé, Gu Yizhong, reborn. Carrying the bitter vendetta of his past life, he watches this “variable” who exists outside his memories with suspicion.
Leng Yue turns Pingtan into a weapon, training her body with modern methods in the courtyard behind a dye house. By day, she is a gentle fiancée; by night, she is an Eighth Route Army agent codenamed “Jingxian.” To break the deadlock, Gu Yizhong chooses to pretend to defect to No. 76.
While she passes top-secret intelligence through the strings of her instrument, he steals a deadly list from the Devil's Den. Pingtan notation becomes a code of life and death, and beneath the Gu family's grand residence lies the explosive that could topple the enemy. Suspicion and testing give rise to trust on the edge of a blade, until Gu Yizhong takes her hand at gunpoint:
“I know you don't belong to this era.”
And the shadow of Zhou Zhifei, head of No. 76, already hangs over their marriage contract.
This is a conspiracy spanning time. When two lonely boats meet, can they fight their way to survival for each other and this land in the darkest hour before dawn?
