The Fuyang Chronicles of Jinmen

Born in the third month, with a Fire destiny. A pure-yang Daoist body, gifted with the ability to see into the underworld.

A contemporary supernatural mystery set in Tianjin, here given the fictional name "Jinshi." The story begins when Lin Jin, a boy born with a pure-yang body who can see ghosts, enters the century-old Jingang University. By chance, he uncovers a century-old feud lying dormant underground. The wails of twin evil spirits and a century-old conspiracy involving a eunuch in the mirror drag him into a whirlpool woven from historical wounds and folk occult arts.

From the university campus to the streets and alleys, from the Hai River to the foreign concessions, he ventures ever deeper into the mists of Tianjin. With the help of companions including Daoist allies from Mount Longhu, archaeologists, and a disciple of the spirit-medium tradition, he confronts obsessions and conspiracies that span the ages. This is not merely a supernatural battle, but a journey of redemption, memory, and protection. On the vibrant, history-steeped stage of Tianjin, a boy tries to mend the city's hidden wounds and find his own place between the worlds of yin and yang.
