Konoha’s Good Neighbor, Crazy Dave

[Naruto + Plants vs. Zombies + Crazy Dave + Kusagakure Village Chief]

With the Second Shinobi World War about to erupt, a small country called Kusagakure huddled in the shadow of the Five Great Nations. It had few resources, little territory, and fewer than three hundred ninja. It even had to steal basic ninjutsu from Konoha’s Ninja Academy. Its future held only two possibilities: becoming a buffer zone for the great nations to trample at will, or serving as a blood bank for them to drain dry. Even its people had to watch the great nations’ moods just to breathe, and they were once derisively called “weeds swaying in the wind”!

The leadership was even worse, rife with corruption, while the people lived in dire misery.

Then a savior appeared!

Crazy Dave invented the “Grass Style Jutsu.” Armed with wisdom beyond his time and an iron hand, he launched a coup, became village chief, and took up the knife of reform. He eliminated the nobility and gave commoners a path to rise. In secret, he annexed neighboring small nations and used economics and public opinion to inflame conflicts between all sides, playing every faction against the others.

He transformed from a dispensable pawn into a player… His fervent followers built his statue higher and higher.

His speech rang out across the land: “We’ll make the world hear the voice of Kusagakure!”

“Let them understand the Will of Grass, and learn that though wildfires burn the grass, the spring breeze brings it back to life!”

When the Fourth Shinobi World War erupted, the great nations, pushed beyond endurance, joined forces to destroy Kusagakure. But they discovered it had already grown into a towering tree. A hundred thousand Kusagakure ninja stood ready at the border, their fighting spirit ablaze. “You mighty figures who once looked down on us, open your eyes and see what you called ‘weeds’! After today, there will be only one voice in the shinobi world!”
