Uchiha Yu: Playing the Laid-Back Fool Ten Years Before the Clan's Downfall

After his soul transmigrates into the world of Naruto, he becomes Uchiha Yu, an utterly unremarkable member of a collateral branch of the Uchiha clan. Instead of awakening a world-destroying Mangekyo, he gets a lazy version of the Sharingan that can “see through ninjutsu but makes him dizzy,” with abilities for analysis and enhancement.

From the start, it's hell mode: the Uchiha massacre is only ten years away. Fanatical coup hardliners stand before him, the suspicious higher-ups of Konoha loom behind him, and his ordinary parents are right beside him, liable to get caught in the storm at any moment.

While everyone else who transmigrates is shouting, “I'll punch Naruto and stomp Sasuke,” Uchiha Yu only wants to cling to the path of keeping his head down:

“Genius? Keep me out of it. I'm a professional at playing the coward!” He deliberately ranks near the bottom at the Ninja Academy, lies flat when the clan calls for recruits, and lowers his head faster than anyone when Uchiha Lie mocks him.

“Conflict? Just steer clear. Staying alive is what matters!” Shisui tests him with genjutsu? He immediately plays dumb. Itachi's chakra draws near? He turns and walks away without looking back.

“Escape? I've planned it all along, down to the last detail!” He takes advantage of his parents' work in logistics and patrols to secretly stockpile supplies, map blind spots along the border, forge identity papers, and prepare three years' worth of fake mission reports. All he needs now is the right moment to disappear.
