Any Traditional Novels?

Novels these days are all about subverting expectations, and the random side characters have no brains at all. The plot is either painfully awkward or makes everyone stupid. They can't think straight the moment they see a woman. Total horndogs. The authors have an idea but can't write it out. Traditional stories are better.
