Eerie Descent: I'm the Holdout in the Forbidden Zone

The supernatural returns, and terror descends.

Countless S-rank restricted zones appear around the world, while humanity trembles under the rules of vengeful ghosts.

The Special Affairs Bureau fights to the death, hoping to secure even the slimmest chance of survival.

Then a man with a zero on his spiritual energy test appears, carrying a shabby bag and holding a husky. His name is Shen Yi.

The deadly restricted zones everyone else fears are “free buffets” to him.

The S-rank Ghost Kings everyone else avoids are “free labor” to him.

[No. 444 Midnight Hearse]

The agents wait in despair for death.

Shen Yi pulls out his phone. “Driver, can I scan to pay? The air-conditioning is freezing. I’m leaving a bad review.”

The ghost driver trembles. “Bro! You take the driver’s seat! I’ll push the hearse!”

[S-rank Mass Grave]

A century-old Zombie King bursts from the ground, intent on slaughtering humanity.

Shen Yi hands him a shovel. “Sir, you’ve got an extraordinary bone structure. This wasteland needs someone to loosen the soil, and you’re the man for the job.”

The Zombie King shovels the earth through his tears. “Does the job include room and board?”

[Haunted Asylum]

A little girl, a world-ending vengeful spirit, is drawing pictures that will destroy the world.

Shen Yi pulls out The Complete Kindergarten Drawing Guide. “The lighting is wrong, and your perspective is off! Copy this a hundred times. No dinner until you get it right!”

The Special Affairs Bureau’s goddess, Gu Qinghan: “Shen Yi is just an ordinary man who’s a little lucky. We have to protect him!”

The Ghost Kings: “Please, just make him leave! He’s the real unknowable horror!”

This is a heartwarming (and benevolent) tale of an Outer God who retires to a world of the supernatural, where he raises a kid, walks the dog, collects rent, and puts the underworld workplace in order along the way.
