In 2008, Lin Wan, a 17-year-old "monster painter" from Apple Town in the south, was ostracized by the town because of her paintings of "weird animals" such as winged cats and one-horned deer. Her only comfort was the disabled animals in the orphanage. In an accident, she met Jiang Yu, a 24-year-old independent musician who escaped from a big city and refused to compromise with capital.
The two were attracted to each other because of their artistic souls, but were forced to separate due to different dreams. In the past five years, Lin Wan used his painting brush to fight prejudice and became famous with "Weird Animals of Apple Town"; Jiang Yu stuck to his original intention with melodies and became popular in the music scene with small town stories. When the crossroads finally intersected, they returned home hand in hand. While healing each other, they also made the entire Apple Town understand: uniqueness is never an original sin, but a light that illuminates the world.
