Seventies Island Life: The Terrible Mother-in-Law Wields a Shovel in Each Hand

The Sevenies on a Sea Island: A Top-Notch Mother-in-Law, a Spatula in One Hand and a Child in the Other

One word short, and it gets awkward.

[No System + everyday life + family squabbles + raising kids + food] Get ready for some satisfying payback!

In her previous life, Lin Xiuying was a famous doormat and workhorse in the surrounding villages. She devoted herself to serving her daughter-in-law and spoiled her grandson into a helpless brat, only to end up alone and sick, dying in the family compound on a sea island.

When she opened her eyes, she was back in 1976. Her son had just brought her to the island where he was stationed, his fussy city-bred wife was complaining that she smelled of chicken droppings, and the neighbors were waiting to laugh at the country bumpkin.

Lin Xiuying gave a cold laugh. This time, you think I’m going to be your maid again? Dream on!

As long as I have no sense of shame, nobody can guilt-trip me!

Her daughter-in-law doesn’t want to cook? Fine, we’ll all go hungry!

Her grandson rolls around demanding candy? If one beating isn’t enough, he can have two!

The neighbors make snide remarks? Then I’ll stew pork belly until its aroma carries for miles, and make your whole family claw at the walls with envy!

Watching Lin Xiuying make a life for herself, with a giant mud crab in one hand and a pot of seafood congee in the other...

The daughter-in-law who once looked down on her: “Mom, please teach me how to cook!”

The neighbors who once watched for a laugh: “Auntie Lin, do you need another godson?”

This is the story of a max-level granny who uses food and a sharp tongue to set her family straight and make life on the island unforgettable.
