After Hearing the CEO's Inner Thoughts, I Turned the Tables on Him

Su Wanwan is an ordinary designer struggling to pay off debts and save her seriously ill adoptive mother. She is forced to sign a one-year “contract marriage” with Lu Sijue, heir to Jiangcheng's most powerful family, the Lu family. Lu Sijue needs her to play the part of a docile wife, fend off his family's pressure to marry, and secure the shares held by his grandfather. Su Wanwan needs the hefty payment.

On their wedding day, Su Wanwan suddenly discovers that she can hear Lu Sijue's thoughts. The aloof, chaste, taciturn CEO Lu turns out to be a drama queen and a relentless complainer on the inside, and… he pays her extraordinary attention and has an awkward crush on her.

And so, everything takes a sudden turn:

When he coldly tosses her a black card and says, “This is for household expenses. Don't embarrass the Lu family when you go out,” his inner voice is shrieking, “Buy the most expensive stuff! I want to see my wife's taste! Oh no, will she think I'm too bossy?”

When he ignores her attempts to please him, he's wailing inside, “The soup she made looks delicious… But I can't break character! Hold on! I'll just have one sip… Mm, it's so good. What do I do?!”

When his childhood sweetheart and beloved crush, Qin Xueyao, comes over to provoke her, he appears to stand by the old family friend, but inside he's grumbling furiously: “That perfume is giving me a headache. Wanwan smells so much better. Why hasn't she left yet? She's getting in the way of me spending time alone with my wife!”

Su Wanwan goes from shocked to nonchalant, and starts making use of this “cheat”: she avoids his insincere words and touchy subjects, then turns the tables to drive him up the wall. With his “secret guidance” in her head, she cleverly handles the wealthy family's attempts to make things difficult for her. She even uses the business information she overhears to quietly pave the way for herself.
