Jin Fengchen, the Miao people's holy son, descends the mountain with his life-bound golden gu. His Miao frontier outfit, with its jingling silver ornaments, stands out in the world of tomb raiding. He is versed in herbs and gu arts, able to control objects with gu and break formations with insects. The ancient golden gu nestled against his chest, named “Red Eye,” is a peerless creature capable of curing all poisons and suppressing every evil.
By chance, he meets the taciturn Zhang Qiling in the Seven Star Lu Palace. Qilin blood and a life-bound gu unexpectedly trigger a celestial phenomenon, binding together the fates of two people who had once had no connection. From the sea monkeys in the underwater tomb of Xisha to the bronze gate at Changbai Mountain, from the rooster-headed snakes of the Snake Marsh Ghost City to the Miluotuo in the Zhang family’s ancient tower, Jin Fengchen wields gu arts as his blade while Zhang Qiling uses his Qilin blood as a shield. Together, the two powerhouses brave deadly ancient tombs where survival is all but impossible.
“Xiao Ge, you protect the world. I’ll protect you.” Jin Fengchen gathers gu at his fingertips to treat Zhang Qiling’s serious wounds, his silver ornaments reflecting the faint light in the tomb. Zhang Qiling, who has lost his memory, lets down his guard only around him, and warmth gradually enters his icy eyes. Together, they pursue the ultimate secret and unravel the mystery of immortality. In the shadows deep within the tomb passages lies a bond of fate spanning a thousand years.
This story features two strong leads, a happy ending, no angst, and plenty of sweet romance, with gu arts and tomb raiding combined. It has all the thrills of ancient tomb exploration, along with the deep bond of two people protecting each other. The main story unlocks the full adventure across every instance. The extras include 25 chapters of Wu Xie × Xiao Ge treats, while the remaining chapters reveal Miao village life, retirement in Yucun, secrets from the past, and much more. A must-read for Grave Robbers' Chronicles fans!
