"The Cruel Man and the Pirate" is a long suspense novel that combines international espionage, high-tech thriller and geopolitical game. The story begins in the Gulf of Aden in 2025. A group of Somali pirates hijacked a Ukrainian strategic transport ship disguised as a British RMS cruise ship, but they did not know that they had been involved in a deadly chess game that was far beyond imagination.
The pirates' reckless actions unexpectedly tore away the curtain on the secret operations of major powers, triggering a fierce secret war between the FBI, MI6, the General Intelligence Service of Ukraine (GUR) and the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia. The plot of the novel has ups and downs, from the Red Sea chase to the Hague Tribunal, from the Berlin Science and Technology Summit to the secret realm of the Greenland ice sheet. It revolves around the "quantum communication technology" that can subvert the rules of future war and the mysterious artificial intelligence network called "Patron Saint", and an intellectual battle is launched that concerns the survival of civilization.
The work not only presents the original confrontation between "ruthlessness" and "wisdom" between pirates and agents, but also deeply explores the complex choices of technological monopoly, ethical boundaries and human nature in the era of artificial intelligence. When the "ruthless people" on all sides make the final choice between loyalty and betrayal, truth and lies, they are defending not only national interests, but also humanity's final control over its own destiny in the face of technological singularity.
