Baji County Magistrate: The Emperor Demotes Me Three Times, Then Invites Me to Court Three Times

Chen Shuo, a modern practitioner of Bajiquan, transmigrates to an ancient dynasty that never existed in his previous life. The dynasty is besieged on all sides: foreign tribes invade year after year, powerful clans control the court, and the people suffer miserably.

Chen Shuo transmigrates into the body of a new soldier on the battlefield. As the cries of battle ring in his ears, he knows that to survive on an ancient battlefield, he has to kill. Using Bajiquan, he fights from the start of the battle to its end, killing more than a dozen foreign tribesmen on his own.

His feat catches the attention of the commander, General Weiyuan, who is a woman.

General Weiyuan, Zhao Qinglan, recommends him to the old emperor. The emperor wants to use Chen Shuo as a weapon against the powerful clans, so he appoints him county magistrate. Chen Shuo seizes the opportunity to rise to prominence.

But when the old emperor dies and the new emperor ascends the throne, one of his first acts is to demote Chen Shuo back to his original post as county magistrate.

The young emperor summons him time and again, only to demote him again and again. It is not until a little girl with a “Gua Gua System” appears and gives the emperor a guarantee that he finally puts Chen Shuo to proper use.
