A Letter to You: May We Meet Year After Year

“The way I care for you isn't out of duty. It's instinct.”

“Take your time. There's no need to hurry. I'll wait for you.”

“In this life and the next, you'll always be my Shen Zhixuan.”

Open this book, and may you believe:

The most beautiful love in the world is being with you, year after year.

Everyone says Fu Rongmo is like snow atop a mountain, like the moon in the heavens: composed, self-possessed, and out of reach.

Only Shen Zhixuan knows that

he'll stay up late organizing the notes she can't understand,

remember the little way she sneaks ice cream during her period,

cross half the city to find her when she gets lost,

and gently take her hand at the height of the fireworks, saying, “Don't be afraid.”

From school uniforms to wedding dresses, from youth to maturity.

He has never said “I love you,” yet over twenty years, he has written the longest love confession.

“When the plum blossoms wither and childhood friends grow old, everyone I love from then on will remind me of you.”

And their story is

The plum blossoms still in bloom, childhood friends still side by side, meeting year after year, always together.
