The story begins in the first dimension, the Xuanmo World. In the second dimension, the Infinite True Cosmos, Si Yuan falls into a black hole while saving Luo Xiangqing. He returns after refining the Law of Devouring, subduing multiple heroines, including the succubus Renee, the demon Su Rouxue, and the transmigrators Bai Qingxi (Nakano Miku) and Bai Nuoyu (Nakano Nino), and establishes the Cangsheng Pavilion. Later, he travels through the Eternal Realm, the Sea of Endless Cosmic Space, and the other seven great dimensions. The cultivation systems grow progressively more advanced in each dimension. Si Yuan repeatedly returns from the brink of death, subdues powerful figures such as the four ferocious beasts and Empress Yun Qiurao, and battles his enemies with poetry through the Sage of Letters, Xu Nianshi. The Cangsheng Pavilion grows ever stronger.
Along the way, he faces backlash from time, plots by the Chosen One, and pursuit by villains from other dimensions. Si Yuan combines various techniques to create the art of Annihilation, awakens his Punishment Form, and gradually breaks through to the Origin-Beginning Realm. In the seventh dimension, the Origin-Beginning Heaven, Si Yuan faces six half-step Origin-Beginning Realm powerhouses alone. He sacrifices treasures to temporarily break through, then slays his formidable foes with a single sword strike and unifies all seven dimensions.
