Mr. Lu, It’s Time to Tear Up the Contract

On the day they were supposed to register their marriage, Su Qingyan is cruelly jilted by her boyfriend of three years. A wealthy heiress then grabs his arm and mocks Su Qingyan for coming from a poor family. At the same time, she receives word that her mother is critically ill. A million yuan in medical bills pushes her to the brink of despair.

Just when all hope seems lost, Lu Shiyan, heir to a top-tier wealthy family, offers her a one-year contract. “Marry me, and I’ll cover all your mother’s medical expenses. You help me fend off family-arranged matches and unwanted admirers. We’ll divorce amicably after a year, with no strings attached.”

Su Qingyan grits her teeth and signs. They register their marriage that very day, making her the “gold-digging contract wife” everyone in town loves to gossip about.

She thinks their marriage is nothing more than a mutually beneficial act, but under the same roof, their guarded suspicions can’t withstand the stirrings of true affection.

He hides multiple secret identities. Beneath his cold exterior lies an unwavering devotion: he face-slaps her scumbag ex and his fake-sweetheart accomplice, and helps her investigate a wrongful family case. She is the heir to a reclusive traditional medicine lineage. She can’t keep her physician identity a secret, and beneath her gentle nature lies a resilient, clear-eyed woman.

When the one-year contract expires, Lu Shiyan grabs her wrist, his eyes filled with desperate resolve. “Su Qingyan, I’m not tearing up the contract. What I want is for you to be my Mrs. Lu for the rest of your life.”

From contractual strangers to finding their way to each other, this whirlwind marriage was always his carefully planned devotion.
