During the rescue mission in Syria, special soldier Vasily Jan Gromov threw himself on a grenade to cover the hostages. He was supposed to die but unexpectedly returned to the Soviet Union in 1985, returning to the point where he was drafted into the army at the age of 19. With the memory and experience of twenty-five years of military career, he started at the recruit assembly point, survived the boring training in the military camp and the difficulties of veterans. Returning to his youth, he was making up for the regrets of the past and protecting his lost comrades, while rewriting his military life in the smoke and blood. On the border battlefield at the end of the Cold War, he continued to write the loyalty and legend of Soviet soldiers.
