Blazing Trails Across the Rivers and Lakes is a legendary novel that blends transmigration, wuxia, history, and the War of Resistance Against Japan.
The story follows three young people: Qiao Feng, Xia Yuwei, and Shi Lei. Each joins one of three major forces in the martial world: the Xuanwu Gate, the Zhuque Gate, and the Beggars’ Sect. At a time when the nation faces peril, guided by Gu Yuanping and aided by Zhang Qingyan, they fuse the chivalrous spirit of the martial world with their devotion to home and country. Together, they secretly establish an anti-Japanese resistance group called Blazing Trails and wage a desperate struggle against the criminal forces that have thrown in their lot with the Japanese invaders, including the Azure Dragon Gang, the White Tiger Gang, and the Axe Gang, as well as Japanese intelligence agencies.
From covert battles in the isolated city to all-out resistance, and from grudges in the martial world to the greater cause of home and country, the three young people endure misunderstanding, betrayal, sacrifice, and growth amid the flames of war. Their love, friendship, and beliefs are tempered and elevated in blood and fire, all the way to Shanghai’s liberation and the founding of New China.
This is an epic of the martial world about ordinary people holding fast to justice in turbulent times and rewriting history with their passion. It is also a stirring anthem of youth: “The flames of war rise again, yet our land endures; firelight blazes, kindling love for home and country; through every tribulation, brothers remain; the martial world still remembers the young adventurers of old.” See how, amid the turmoil of the martial world, they cross through the flames of war and at last reach the light!
You'll never guess how each chapter ends. Spy war, anti-Japanese war, the Jianghu of the Republic of China, urban martial arts, group portraits and various legendary novels. From the slang of rivers and lakes to the customs of the Republic of China to the reappearance of rivers and lakes, the real history is reproduced. Time travel is just an opportunity, not a mindless time travel. The story has ups and downs. The original idea that inspired me to write this novel came from many years ago, when I was working at a construction site in Baoding, Hebei Province. I remember it was Baoding No. 4 Middle School. One day, we dug out a pile of white bones and heard the locals say that it was the place where the Japs were most harmed. This incident has always been in my mind, and I have wanted to write a novel about fighting the Japs for many years. I finally found time recently, so I wrote it and shared it with my book friends. I also hope that the younger generation in the future will not forget the national humiliation and forge ahead.
The story is fascinating and unconventional, which solved my book shortage of novels about the Republic of China. Quite interesting.
After reading the first few chapters, the writing is very interesting, and the slang is a major feature. The characters have distinct personalities and the story is very attractive to read. Please read it slowly and read it carefully.
