Fate was set in stone, yet he became its one and only “variable.”
Nezha, the pivotal child in the Great Calamity of the Investiture of the Gods, took his own life in grief before Chentang Pass. His three souls and seven spirits should have followed Heaven's decree back to Mount Qianyuan, where he would be reborn in a lotus body and become a vanguard in the campaign against King Zhou.
But at the very instant his soul left his body, deep within the boundless secrets of Heaven, the one and only “escape” from the grand design shook with a thunderous roar. An immeasurable rift in chaos suddenly opened, swallowing the blazing soul that should have returned to the golden light, along with all his memories from his previous life, his resentment, and the origin of his Spirit Pearl!
He vanished from the schemes and watchful eyes of every sage.
When he opened his eyes again, he was in another world, neither immortal, god, nor human.
It was a wondrous world where magic and dragons soared, a steel torrent of battle aura and roaring mechs, and a mysterious abyss where cyberpunk neon intertwined with Lovecraftian whispers... The laws of the Myriad Worlds collided, merged, and twisted here.
Nezha carried the origin of the Spirit Pearl and wielded incomplete treasures from the primordial world, their spiritual essence still lingering in the Universe Ring and the Red Armillary Sash. Yet he discovered that all his immortal arts were incompatible with this world's laws.
But so what?
He was the demon child who had stirred up the four seas and defied Heaven's decree, a proud, unyielding soul who would rather take his own life than bow in the face of despair. If immortal arts were gone, he would use martial arts to reopen the heavens and earth! If the rules rejected him, he would blaze a new path with fire!
And so, a legend of a “bringer of calamity” began to spread throughout the Myriad Worlds.
The author is very good. Time travel is not just about changing the map. It can be more than just saying Nezha is getting stronger. You can see the growth trajectory.
The writing is good, and the divinity and humanity of Nezha are perfectly expressed. Nezha is no longer the lawless urchin, but the three-tan Haihui god who guards the world and kills demons.
