Eerie Descent: I Awaken the Heavenly Master System

Ji Sanjin is an ordinary Daoist of the third generation at the Celestial Master’s Mansion. His Daoist arts are mediocre, and he struggles to make ends meet. As supernatural phenomena return across the globe, his wife, Zhang Ke, suddenly comes down with a strange illness that modern medicine cannot treat. On the verge of despair, Ji Sanjin unexpectedly awakens the Celestial Master’s legacy and activates the “Ghostly Dao System,” which turns indescribable, terrifying forces into rules and data. The System tells him that only by resolving supernatural incidents and accumulating merit can he save his wife. Thus begins Ji Sanjin’s path of confronting all kinds of well-known folk horrors: the pen fairy, mirror ghosts, jiangshi, water ghosts, vengeful spirits… He focuses on the Golden Light Mantra and supplements it with the Eight Great Daoist Incantations, combining traditional Daoist arts with the System’s abilities as he grows stronger on the brink of life and death. As he resolves more and more supernatural incidents, Ji Sanjin discovers that a greater conspiracy lurks behind the global resurgence of the supernatural, and the System’s true purpose remains a mystery. Faced with the choice between saving his wife and saving the world, Ji Sanjin must decide, and it seems everything is connected to an ancient secret of the Celestial Master’s Mansion.
