After My Ex-Husband, a Nightmare of a Client, I Became a Star

Three years after her divorce, Xia Wanxing burns the midnight oil on a bidding proposal, clinging to the humble mindset of, "The client can torment me a thousand times, and I'll still treat them like my first love." All she wants is to save her small studio from the brink of bankruptcy.

Who would have guessed that at the bidding meeting, she'd run into her ex-husband, Lu Tingyuan, the man she'd tried so desperately to avoid, and discover that he was the legendary trillionaire client who held the power of life and death?

Worse, she wins the bid, but it comes with an outrageous condition: she has to move into the Lu Group's offices and report to him in person every step of the way.

Back then, she stormed the CEO's office with a tube of deathly Barbie-pink lipstick, flung down the divorce papers, and declared, "We'll never have anything to do with each other again." Now she's her ex-husband's personal employee, enduring his nitpicking as he makes her revise her proposal until she questions her own existence.

Lu Tingyuan says coldly, "Designer Xia, this proposal won't do. Start over."

Xia Wanxing bristles. "Lu Tingyuan, are you picking a fight on purpose?"

He's a sharp-tongued but soft-hearted CEO, secretly keeping an eye on her and supporting her for three years, taking on the whole world but always protecting her. She's a proud, sharp-tongued designer fallen on hard times, with stellar skills and lingering feelings, yet all she ever says is, "Stay out of my business."

Their daily office spats have the onlookers shipping them as a couple, while their friends work online to expose their secret identities. As misunderstandings from the past are gradually cleared up, the two who never say what they really mean piece their shattered mirror back into a happy ending amid the chaos of their workplace tug-of-war.

"Lu Tingyuan, what exactly are you trying to do?"

He leans in close, his eyes concealing three years of tenderness. "I want to win my ex-wife back."
