The Strange Tales of Dongling

In the early years of the Republic of China, a tomb beneath Dongling draws in strange characters from the Buddhist, Taoist, and secular worlds. As they battle for treasure, they put on an absurd show of “You bald donkey, how dare you compete with this Taoist for the nun!” Little do they know that the Western corpse king awakening inside the tomb is something even their founding masters never spoke of.

If you enjoy the tomb-raiding thrills of Ghost Blows Out the Light, the folkloric eeriness of Mr. Vampire, the Victorian weirdness of The League of Gentlemen, and the love-hate bonds of a makeshift team, then this tale of Buddhist-Taoist rivalry over a tomb in Republican-era Dongling may have you swinging back and forth between spine-chilling terror and laughter.
