Bang!
When the nurse rushed in, she found parts scattered all over the floor...
“Hey! That’s medical equipment!”
“Who are you? The Embroidered Uniform Guard or the Eastern Depot?” Zhu Yuanzhang’s eyes flashed. Though weak, he still radiated an emperor’s authority.
Five minutes later, they had pinned him back onto the hospital bed.
Three hours later, he understood three things:
First, this was not the underworld. It was a “hospital.”
Second, it was now 2023 AD, and the Great Ming had fallen more than six hundred years ago.
Third, the owner of this body was Zhu Chongba, twenty-seven years old, a food delivery driver who had died suddenly while still owing the platform 3,000 yuan in deposit fees.
When the station manager, Fatty Wang, walked in wearing a yellow delivery uniform, Zhu Yuanzhang was staring blankly at the “iron box” outside the window: a car.
“Xiao Zhu, if you can be discharged, get back to work as soon as possible,” Fatty Wang said, handing him a helmet. “The station’s KPI targets are tight this month. You need to earn enough to cover your medical bills.”
Zhu Yuanzhang took the yellow helmet and examined it for a moment before slowly putting it on.
“Is this... My new armor?”
Fatty Wang paused, then laughed. “Right, right, armor! Hurry up, the lunch rush is about to start!”
And so, the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang climbed onto a blue electric scooter.
His phone chimed for the first time:
“You have a new Meituan delivery order. Please handle it promptly.”
He glanced down at the glowing “jade tablet,” then looked up at the city’s forest of skyscrapers.
The scooter slowly pulled out of the hospital.
The shadow of an empire disappeared into the traffic.
And his first delivery was headed to Zifeng Tower:
A serving of extra-spicy mala soup.
