Synopsis
Lin Yang, a modern history buff, unexpectedly transmigrates into the world of Water Margin, finding himself in Yanggu County. He awakens the Beauty-Protecting Destiny System and masters peerless martial arts. Dressed in white and carrying a folding fan, he is every bit as carefree and elegant as Chu Liuxiang. Unable to bear seeing Pan Jinlian fall into the same tragic fate as in the original tale, he uses the Wind-Riding Phantom Steps to help her flee Yanggu in the dead of night. From then on, he sets out on a free-spirited journey.
Along the way, he happens upon Lin Chong in danger at Wild Boar Forest and dispels the threat with a flick of his fingers, but declines Lin Chong’s offer to follow him, preferring to remain a mere spectator in the martial world. When he reaches Qingzhou, he encounters the rampant banditry of Qingfeng Mountain. The authorities are helpless, so he and the women by his side simply watch the tumultuous times unfold, staying clear of court politics and martial-world feuds.
With mountains and rivers for companions, he witnesses the many faces of Water Margin’s people. Lin Yang remains ever graceful in white, protecting those at his side as he carves out a carefree path of his own through a troubled age.
