The Redemption of a Gold Digger and a Control Freak

Fan Shengmei tries to escape her parasitic birth family by posing as a socialite and mingling among the wealthy, but at an upscale reception, she’s publicly exposed for carrying a fake designer bag and stripped of her dignity. Meng Yancheng, the head of the Fu Group, unexpectedly steps in to help her, intrigued by her unabashed desire for money. When he discovers she’s buried in debt, Meng Yancheng makes her a provocative offer: “Need money? Why not try cheating me out of it?” Fan Shengmei sees it as a mutually beneficial business arrangement, unaware that Meng Yancheng has been laying his plans all along, from tearing away her false facade to nurturing her pride, until their bargain edges out of control. When Fan Shengmei tries to draw a firm line between them, Meng Yancheng offers her the fatal temptation of “playing the act all the way to the marriage certificate.” What seems like a clash between a gold digger and a control freak is really a story of two people falling for each other and finding redemption. In his devotion, she lets go of her disguise; in her candor, he releases his long-suppressed feelings. In the end, a broken string of prayer beads bears witness to their deep love.
