I’m a Heavenly Court Janitor in the Primordial World, and I Found the Investiture of the Gods from the Start

I was the lowest-ranking cleaner in the Heavenly Court, responsible for sweeping the steps outside the Hall of Divine Might. When the celestial officials passed by, they walked over my hands, their soles pressing down as they sneered, “Clean them properly, you lowly servant.” One day, because I took one extra glance at a fairy from the Jade Pool, I was punished by being made to kneel at the Southern Heavenly Gate and lick all three thousand steps clean.

As I licked them through my tears, my broom knocked over an incense burner, and the Investiture of the Gods rolled out of the ashes. The list was blank, and a vermilion brush was in my hand. A voice exploded in my mind: [Bound to the “Keeper of the List” System. You may write three names today. The fate of anyone listed is yours to decide].

The next day, the celestial official who had punished me slapped me in front of everyone. “Did you lick them clean yesterday?” I wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth, pulled out a tattered list, and slowly wrote down the first name right in front of him.
