[On the surface: Infamous demon lord vs. cold, celibate young immortal]
[In reality: Kind-hearted nag with a mean face vs. clingy schemer]
Qu Yan, a cultivation prodigy unseen for ten thousand generations, was born into the demon realm. Though infamous, he was determined to ascend to immortality.
After failing to ascend several times, he tricked an eminent immortal into binding a life-and-death contract with him. From then on, they shared their senses and their fates.
Qu Yan finally managed to ascend, only to be killed by his aloof senior brother for murdering their master.
Reborn, he concealed his identity and reopened the investigation into what happened back then, only to hit one obstacle after another.
He never expected his aloof senior brother, who usually kept everyone at arm's length, to help him time and again, while constantly looking for ways to be alone with him.

Yun Jian was hailed as a leading figure in the immortal realm and a paragon for the ages. Many fairies had their eyes on him. Yet he was cold and celibate, deaf to worldly affairs and devoted only to cultivation.
Qu Yan: "Immortal Lord, can't perform in bed? You mean you're impotent. Just give in to me and I'll help you!"
At first, Yun Jian wished Qu Yan would be obliterated, body and soul, and suffer eternal damnation.
Qu Yan: "We're bound by a life-and-death contract. Even if you die, you're coming with me."
Later, people often saw Yun Jian sneaking into the demon realm alone and refusing to leave Qu Yan's side.
Yun Jian: "We're bound by a life-and-death contract. You can't abandon me."

"They say Immortal Lord Qinghe was whisked away by a female demon?"
"I haven't heard that the old Demon Lord has a daughter."
Qu Yan lifted his chin, exposing his Adam's apple, and declared righteously, "I'm a man! A man!"
The characters have distinct personalities and good emotional lines, but maybe it lacks something fascinating. It's really well written.
