My niece, who was about to take the college entrance exam, came to stay with me.
But the day before the exam, while the whole family was distracted, she burned my son's admission ticket to ashes.
My son watched his hopes crumble before his eyes. Heartbroken and despairing, he leaped from the thirteenth floor.
I rushed to the hospital with my son in my arms, frantic with fear, only to receive a death notice.
My niece showed no remorse. Her eyes full of contempt, she sneered,
"My cousin can't even take a little setback. He was never going to amount to much anyway!"
"Auntie, you should treat me better from now on. Maybe if I'm in a good mood, I'll take care of you when you're old!"
The judge sentenced my niece to three months in prison, but my younger sister collapsed into her husband's arms, sobbing that she'd spend the rest of her life working like a slave to atone.
My husband felt so sorry for her that he signed a letter of forgiveness on the spot.
My niece was released without punishment and came to gloat in front of me.
"Your son's dead, and you've made an enemy of me. You'll be begging for food when you're old!"
I was consumed by hatred and wanted nothing more than to strangle her to avenge my son.
But my husband rushed over and slapped me to the ground. Disgusted, he called me vicious and said he wanted a divorce.
Then he turned and kissed my grateful-looking sister passionately. Watching them, I was so enraged that I suffered a sudden heart attack and died.
When I woke up again, I was back on the day before my son was due to take the college entrance exam.
Being a mother means being strong.
