Chen Shouzheng, a professor of Qin and Han history, and Zhao Pojun, a professor of materials engineering, accidentally traveled to the Lishan alchemy cave where Qin Shihuang lived in the 32nd year of his reign due to a laboratory explosion, and possessed the alchemist Ji Yang who was on the verge of death from heavy metal poisoning because he questioned Xu Fu. One of the two was responsible for negotiating and controlling the situation with words, and the other was responsible for transforming the alchemy furnace, using technology, and controlling Ji Yang's body to resurrect from the dead. They also made bold promises to refine a real "elixir of longevity" called "civilization," thus starting an adventure in the Qin Dynasty that used modern knowledge to leverage the ancient structure.
