[Both leads are faithful + HE + the male lead pursues his wife without a groveling arc + the female lead has the emotional upper hand + post-marriage push and pull]

(Ballet dancer x old-fashioned, paternalistic tycoon)

Two years after marrying Wen Yubai for their families’ alliance, Su Ci had grown tired of pretending to be sweet and obedient every day.

After hearing him say he liked well-behaved girls who wore white dresses and had long, straight black hair, Su Ci had kept up the act for two whole years.

The old man was stiff, dull, and boring. In bed, he only knew one position and never tried anything new.

To put an end to this miserable life and make Wen Yubai be the one to ask for a divorce, Su Ci decided to change things up. First, she got her hair permed into big waves and put on a sexy red strapless dress.

But when the man saw her, he said nothing. He simply pulled her into bed and kept her moving all night.

Wen Yubai: You look beautiful today.

Su Ci: ???

She decided she must not have gone far enough.

Later, Wen Yubai realized what Su Ci was planning. While drunk, he locked himself in his study and cried his heart out.

Hearing the noise, Su Ci rubbed her eyes and came out of the bedroom.

“Why is there a water buffalo bellowing in the house? Moo, moo... Tomorrow, we’d better take it out and sell it. We’re not allowed to keep cattle here!”

After the divorce, Wen Yubai was interviewed by a financial magazine.

Host: If you were to rate your life right now out of ten, what score would you give yourself?

Wen Yubai: 8.6.

Host: Why the precise decimal?

Wen Yubai: Because a part of me is dead...
