This is an urban survival fable rooted in reality. The story is set in Pengcheng, a glamorous modern city, and tells the story of a group of ordinary people who have been harmed or abandoned by the system - Chen Yan, an engineer who bears the stain of his father, Lu Jing, a nurse who is obsessed with the truth about his death, Xiaoya, who has transformed from a factory worker to a lawyer, Sister Chen, a technical officer who holds secrets, and Lao Lei, a veteran - how their fates are intertwined due to a historical pollution incident. The emergence of female bisexuality makes the love and hatred between them even more complicated and confusing. What they face is not only the heavy metal poisoning that has been deposited in the soil and oceans for 30 years, but also a huge network of data fraud, power rent-seeking and silent conspiracy.
