The Wealthy Family’s Beloved: The CEO’s Plastic-Surgery Substitute Wife

On the same night that Su Wan, a graduate school applicant whose plastic surgery had gone wrong, was dumped by her campus-heartthrob boyfriend, she uncovered his self-serving scheme to marry the daughter of a university trustee. At her lowest point, the mysterious international student Lu Chen appeared, claiming to be the Lu family’s “stand-in CEO.” He handed her a contract for a whirlwind marriage. Was this a chance at salvation, or another carefully laid trap?

He helped her repair her appearance and fight back, putting the betrayers beneath her feet; she stood by him as he navigated the Lu family’s power struggles and fought off attacks from every side. Their feelings grew stronger beyond the terms of the contract, but their newfound happiness was shattered at a victory banquet by evidence of a baby swap kept hidden for twenty years.

The evidence pointed to them being blood relatives who had been maliciously switched amid a wealthy family’s power struggle, and the chains of taboo tightened around them. But the secret hidden in Lu Chen’s eyes, the blurred signature on the swap documents, and the shadow that had been manipulating everything from behind the scenes all hinted that this was far more than a simple “misunderstanding.”

Why was he willing to be a “stand-in”? Was there more to the swap twenty years ago? Was the person lurking in the shadows after control of the Lu family, or did they have some other unspeakable aim?

When a contract marriage collides with a mystery surrounding their identities, and true love is caught up in a conspiracy, can Su Wan and Lu Chen pierce the layers of fog? What other secrets of the wealthy will the truths deliberately buried bring to light?
