An inherited pet shop in a remote town holds a secret that connects two worlds.
Twenty-six-year-old Su Wanwan is the new manager of the “Shiguang Pet Shop,” and the thirty-seventh generation guardian of the Su family’s waystation. Her grandmother left her more than an old house: she also passed down a spirit-summoning art handed down only to women, and a jade hairpin that carries the scent of peach blossoms.
When white mist from the backyard rolls over her ankles, the rotting wooden door transforms into a gateway between worlds, carved with cloud patterns. Two fiery-red foxes sit by a spring in a peach-blossom valley, beckoning to her from afar.
