Folklorist, Make the Spirits Leave

Lu Jianqiu only wants to be an ordinary historian. But after his younger sister mysteriously disappears, he is forced to take up the family heirlooms: a brush that can reach the underworld and a blank record book. Whatever the brush writes can reach the netherworld, but each stroke can also shorten the writer’s life.

A murder in an ancient town, the ghosts of a theater troupe, a drowning with no water... Every eerie case points to a mysterious organization called the Netherworld Society. To uncover the truth, Lu Jianqiu has no choice but to team up with Shen Mobai, a carefree man who can see through the boundary between yin and yang.

But when his father’s long-sealed notes resurface, Lu Jianqiu discovers that his bloodline has long been marked by a curse. The seven-day pact at the Yellow Springs Inn is drawing near. Every word he writes could save both the living and the dead, or... destroy them.
