An ensemble cast! Over 300,000 words already written, so read with confidence! The seme is quite the drama queen, so proceed with caution!
Shen Qingyan, an errand-running disciple of Xuanxiao Sect, has one goal in life: save up enough money to treat his younger brother's illness, while keeping his head down and surviving in the cultivation world.
That is, until Xiao Linyuan, the sect's top prodigy, personally selects him to serve as an attendant for the trial in Soul-Severing Valley.
But the famously aloof and formidable Senior Brother Xiao seems a little off: he “faints” when they encounter a monster, “trembles” when they run into a trap, and keeps hiding behind Shen, batting his pretty eyes as he says, “Junior Brother Shen, I'm so scared.”
Shen Qingyan: “...” Senior Brother, I think the thunder mist from when you cleaved that third-tier monster in two is still hanging around.
The others forced into their group include:
The righteous and spirited second young lady of the Luo family, who always gets taken advantage of;
An exiled disciple of the Wanfa Sect, full of nasty tricks with formations but afraid of ghosts;
And a shy talisman master carrying a pack of talismans taller than himself, whose entire combat strategy consists of throwing them.
When the five accidentally form a Five-Element Symbiotic Pact, binding their fates together
Xiao Linyuan (weakly): “Qingyan, I'm running low on spiritual power again...”
Luo Qingge (irritated): “Xiao, are you faking it again?!”
Su Xiaoxiao (covering her eyes): “I can't watch! Xu Slowpoke, hurry up and give me a Cleansing Talisman!”
Xu Li (flustered): “R-right away!”
Shen Qingyan glances at the symbiotic mark glowing on his wrist, then at the bunch of “brilliant minds” around him, and silently tightens his grip on his unsharpened short sword.
Fine. First, we'll stay alive together and cure my brother.
As for that drama queen Senior Brother who keeps pretending to be weak but is actually unfathomably powerful...
They can settle the score later.
A heartwarming cultivation tale about five people bound together in a perilous cultivation world, helping one another and getting each other into trouble.
